| Healthipet-NJ was opened to assist animal shelters and rescues in the Northern New Jersey, New York and other areas who are not equipped to care for or handlle avian birds. Many places do not have the room or experience that is required to care for these birds. So we will take in unwanted birds that are brought to these shelters and keep them for a period of time until we feel they can be adopted out. We try to place all our animals in a loving and forever home.
Our rescue will not adopt out any birds until all forms have been filled out, the home inspection has been done and all references have been checked out. In addition, the adoptee also must furnish us with a Vet reference.
Adoptions can also be done out of state as our organization has volunteers all over the country that will assist us in helping to get any bird in their new homes by doing home inspections.
Pictured here is Dorothy an approved Homechecker and manager of the New Jersey branch. She currently has about 35 birds in her care with most of them being rescues and rehomes. She has canaries to macaws and has devoted much of her life to the welfare of these birds and any others she can help out. She believes very strongly that all birds deserve a forever loving home. |
