"Hello Dorothy and Ericka
I am just reeling from the news ....... and smiling ear to ear
![]()
I had to read your email three times before it sank in .... I won ....I actually won!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. You just don't know what this means to me. I have only been an African Grey mom for a few months and I am trying so hard to be a good one.
I don't earn very much and have to source the cheapest items to make toys for my boy and I worry all the time that he is not entertained enough and will start plucking.
You have made my day, heck no, my year. Thank you so, so, so much. I can't wait to receive my prize and share it with my boy.
Please give Henry a very big hug and kiss from me. I am going to just love what he has selected.
Thank you so much
Love and best wishes to you all
Thea
(Theadebra)"
(Pictures of prize to be posted soon!)

One of our rescue/shelter birds, Honey, an 18 year old Moluccan Cockatoo, passed away this weekend after a long battle with numerous health issues.
Honey was rescued by another shelter from a home that she was being abused in. She had a huge hole that was bleeding and infected, she almost didnt make it. She was a fighter and pulled through. But then, the owner of the rescue fell ill and couldn't care for her anymore. About a year ago this August, the other shelter called Dorothy/Healthipet-NJ to pick Honey up from Bergenfield. When she got Honey she was plucked, had no tail, a gaping hole in the chest that was finally beigging to scab from the medication that he was giving her.
After being with Dorothy for about 3-4 months Honey began to feather out, her tail began to grow back, her chest was healing further and she even stopped picking at herself. Then things turned for the worse when she had a stroke and fell off the perch. We believe she broke both of her legs during the fall. She seemed to be getting better but about 3 weeks later she had another stroke and ultimately thats what ended her life. "It's like losing a human family member," Dorothy said. "This is why we solicit donations so we can get the vetrinary care that birds like Honey need to get well".
Most of us have owned a pet at some time in our lives, and very often our pets become as much a family member as our human kith and kin. So it is that the death of a pet can represent a time of great loss and sorrow. Therefore, in honor of Honey, we decided to create a Pet Memorial section on our site. If you have a pet bird that you recently lost, I am willing to publish your pet's memorial and pictures here. Please email a brief bio and details about your bird along with photos and we will post it on our memorial page.

Hi Everyone!
Thank you for your feedback. We just wanted to let you know that we are aware of the photo viewing problem on some of the webstore's new products. Some of them need to be changed to a different file format and some need to be decreased in size. Please be patient as editing sometimes takes up a lot of time on an already slow PC; not to mention we had a rescue bird pass away this weekend.
We are working on the issue and will have it resolved A.S.A.P.
Thanks! =)
