If you are unable to adopt a bird but would like to help sponsor one you can do so by filling out a form to sponsor. The fee can be $25.00 to $100.00 which can be paid weekly or monthly. The fee will go towards food, vet checks, toys and any other supplies necessary for the care of the bird.
You will also receive email updates including a photo of the bird and updates on their progress while here in the rescue
By sponsoring any bird in our rescue, you will help us to continue with the birds wellness check at the vet, feeding, providing toys beeded to keep them busy, etc.
There are others in our rescue also that need to be sponsored, these are birds that cannot be adopted because of the life they had before they came to me. I have listed below the birds who are available for the sponsor program:
Rocky
19 yr. old Blue & Gold Macaw. Rocky is plucked on his wings and chest. He is terrified of hands and will bite when you try to get him to step up and come out of his cage. He is getting better but still has many other issues that need to be worked on.
Tootsie
7 yr. old Blue & Gold Macaw who came to me when the previous owner was not satisified because she would not breed with the male she was with. Tootsie is plucked on chest and is a biter. She will not let anyone go near her while she is in or on the cage. When you can get her off the cage, she will allow you to hold her but will not let you touch any part of her body. Tootsie right now cannot be adopted but if her issues can be worked out she may be adopted at a later time.
Powder
IS the bird that is pictured above:
8 yr. old Titon Cockatoo. Not sure of sex of this bird, but I believe it is male. Powder came to me plucked on wings, chest and legs. Powder is a screamer and was left to sit alone in his cage for long period of time. We are working on his issues an he is improving weekly.
Please note this sponsor and adoption list changes periodically as new birds arrive; we will do our best at keeping it as updated as possible.

Boarding
Do you have to go away for a business trip or on vacation? Healthipets NJ will board your bird/birds for you. Boarding can be for 2 days up to a month or more. The price will vary depending on the time they will spend here and the care involved.
Fostering
There will come a time when something will come up an you will find the need for a birdie-sitter. Maybe loss of home, or a family emergency and do not want to rehome your bird; you need someone to care for your beloved bird temporarily. Healthipet NJ will take your bird to foster. There is no time limit however there will be weekly or monthly fees. The fees will vary depending on the bird needs.
If you have decided you need to sell your bird because of unfortunate circumstances, but are finding it difficult in doing so, healthipet will take your bird in an find it a forever loving home. Our birds do not go to any homes without home inspections, vet references and, in some cases, the prospective adoptors are required to take classes on the bird care. We will give your bird the same treatment we do for our own. Your bird will not go to any home until we are sure the home will be one that will give your bird the love and care it deserves. Birds on consignment will be kept in a separate environment; they will not be mixed with the rescue/sanctuary birds. Our fee is a percentage of the adoption fee.
For more information on boarding or fostering please contact Dorothy at healthipetnetworkinnj@comcast.net.

The bird pictured above is TYLER a 7 yr old U2. Tyler was surrendered to us 3 weeks ago as her previous owners were not able to take the screaming. Tyler has been very good since she came here. She eats well, plays well with all her toys and her screaming is at a minimum at this point. We will continue to work with tyler and hope to get her back to where she should be,. Tyler was in a home that had dogs and for some reason tyler was not happy with them being there. I have a cat but that does not seem to bother her at all. OH tyler barks like a dog/dogs an honks LOL:
